Powering this Plymouth is a 5.8L V8 engine with a 3-speed automatic transmission. According to the owner, this car features the original trim and glass. This specific Barracuda is in good mechanical condition and has never had any collisions. The car's odometer reads just under 3,000 miles. In the early 1960s the interest in sporty cars was intensifying due to customer preference and potential younger drivers. In 1964 the standard engine changed from the 170 CID slant six to the 225 CID slant six. The 1965 Barracuda was basically a carryover of the 1964 inaugural edition of the car, aside from a slightly revised grill. In making this specific car seem sportier was making it more powerful. Upgrading the engine to a 225 CID slant six added 44 horsepower, bringing it to 145 horsepower! The new Formula S package that was also put on the car was a sport and power package and was designed for more power, but also a sportier ride. While there was a high demand for sportier cars, the engineers also considered convenience. The backseat of the 1965 folds down for more cargo space and can seat up to five people.
